Your Role

As an Application Systems Engineer, you will connect customer requirements, system architecture, and product development. You will work closely with European OEMs, our Stuttgart engineering team, and global R&D teams to define scalable test and validation solutions for next-generation vehicles.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze technical requirements from European OEMs and translate them into structured product and system requirements
• Define and prioritize product features in alignment with product vision, technical feasibility, and strategic roadmap — in close collaboration with customers, development teams, and stakeholders
• Develop technical solution and platform concepts for modern HIL/SIL validation environments
• Formulate technical acceptance criteria and system requirements for development and validation processes
• Identify technological trends in E/E architectures, virtualization, and automotive validation
• Coordinate technical feedback between European customer projects and international R&D teams
• Assess technical risks, system dependencies, and their impact on architecture and release planning
• Support technical workshops, proof-of-concepts, and customer project commissioning

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Several years of experience in automotive engineering, ideally in HIL/SIL, ECU development, validation, or E/E architectures; Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and tools such as Vector, dSPACE, or NI
• Knowledge of vehicle systems such as BMS, VCU, inverters, telematics, diagnostics, and vehicle networks
• Understanding of application systems integration, test environments, and R&D workflows in the automotive or embedded systems domain is highly beneficial.
• Practical experience in software development and programming in languages commonly used in automotive or systems engineering (e.g., C/C++, Python, or similar).
• Ability to work on-site in Stuttgart, collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
